Rima's History
Rima was incorporated in September, 1955, by Ed Engle and a partner. With a charge of romanticism, the two men called their new enterprise Rima in honor of
their wives, Rita and Marian. It was located initially in a wooden frame building that formerly housed the trucks of a local coal company. After a year
of struggling, Rima moved to cinder block solid headquarters.
In 1960, when equipment was purchased to compliment the capabilities of Rima's Screw Machines, our Machining Department was born. Still later, Centerless
Grinders became an additional dimension of our expertise.
Through the years, customers have been a key part of our success. Just as Rima welcomed them, they, too, were eager for the quality, timely deliveries, and attractive prices that Rima's workers have always made the benchmark of our tradition. The ranks of Rima workers have grown, too. Each person's individual interest in making Rima the best competitor possible is a vital link in our dynamic chain of growth.
In 1978, Rima moved again. On Munson Highway, our home stands as a symbol of what teamwork and time can produce.
In 1980, another corporation, Rima of Canada, was established in Kingsville, Ontario, to better
serve our Canadian customers.
Today, as always, the workers of Rima positively face the challenges that will bring opportunities for their greater security and strength both now and in the future.
